Interns and Student Workers

The center brings together students and scholars at Duke Kunshan University, Wuhan University, and other institutions across China and around the world to pursue a common scholarly interest in contemporary Chinese affairs. Many of the center’s activities are open to the broader community. 

Junyi Yu

CSCC Student Photographer, Class of 2026

Hi this is Junyi from Zhejiang, China, majoring in Media and Arts, Creative Practice track. I explore how photography and documentary storytelling can deepen our understanding of communities, traditions, and human connection. I believe that immersive, visual narratives conveyed through all kinds of mediums have the power to preserve culture and inspire empathy across boundaries.

Violet Nguyen

CSCC Student Journalist, Class of 2028

Violet Nguyen is a sophomore majoring in Cultural Anthropology. She has strong interests in linguistics, anthropology, and public policy, and enjoys exploring languages and writing of all kinds. Beyond academics, she is passionate about cultural exchange, sustainability, and creating spaces where people from diverse backgrounds can connect and learn from one another.

Zihan Chen

CSCC Student Journalist, Class of 2026

Zihan Chen is a senior student studying Political Science, who was born and raised in Wuxi, Jiangsu, a Jiangnan watertown. His research interests include the historic and contemporary Sino-US relations, citizen movements, the operation of different types of modern government institutions, as well as other interesting practices related to political theory. He is also the leader/cofounder of multiple student organizations related to finance/AI/public policy.
