Event details

Through role-play and collective reflection, participants will navigate four critical life stages—education, labor, marriage, and childbirth—encountering structural inequalities, social expectations, and the quiet strength that sustains survival. This participatory form blurs the boundaries between research, art, and empathy, transforming observation into lived understanding.

About the Mulan Community Service Center

Founded on January 15, 2010, the Mulan Community Service Center (Mulan) is a non-profit social service organization dedicated to supporting female migrant workers in Beijing. Focusing on the needs of migrant workers, Mulan establishes and operates community activity hubs and public spaces. Using these spaces as platforms, Mulan brings together external social resources to provide cultural, educational, and psychosocial services for migrant women and their children.

By expanding social networks and facilitating structured peer interactions, Mulan aims to enhance migrant women’s cultural and civic participation, strengthen their independence and gender equality awareness, and support their adaptation to urban life.
