Bio:

Julie Chen is a writer and artist from San Jose, CA. Her poetry and prose has been published in The Shanghai Literary Review, Asian American Writers’ Workshop’s the Margins, Peach Magazine, and more. She is an MFA student in Poetry at Brooklyn College, where she is also a Social Practice CUNY Fellow, deepening her research-based practice around labor and writing technologies and developing a community-driven approach to poetic performance. As a Fulbright Fellow from 2019-20, she researched Chinese fashion workers in Italy. As her day job, she works in fundraising to support Asian tenant organizing in New York City.
