Gardening in Universities is an exciting workshop that brings together garden founders, scholars, and students from DKU, Peking University, the University of Glasgow, NYU Shanghai, and Xi’an Jiaotong–Liverpool University. They’ll share how different campuses have built and strengthened their gardens—and how these green spaces have become hubs for community connection, hands-on learning, and sustainable living.
As DKU continues to grow its own garden community, this workshop is a chance for students, staff, and faculty to gain fresh ideas, exchange experiences, and envision new possibilities for our shared space. With lively roundtables featuring fellow garden founders, scholars, and students, the event offers an inspiring look at how university gardens can flourish when communities come together. Join us to explore how we can continue nurturing a garden—and a campus—rooted in collaboration and creativity.
All DKU community members—whether you already have a garden plot or are simply curious—are warmly invited to join us. Refreshments will be provided!
This workshop is a part of the Communitiy Service Project “Initiator’s Manual for Community Gardening in the Yangtze Delta”, sponsored by the Center for the Study of Contemporary China.
